What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) works in a similar way. We use essential items without consent because the site cannot work without them. Everything else is used only with your consent.

Essential cookies used by the relevant features

  • Sign-in cookies (names end in _session and _refresh) – maintain and renew sign-in. These are browser-session cookies; their browser lifetime is separate from server-side sign-in validity.
  • nhc_device – remembers the device layout. Duration: 365 days; a temporary link override lasts for the browser session.
  • nhc_cookie_consent and nhc_cookie_consent_id – retain your cookie choice and its record identifier. Cookie duration: 365 days. This does not define retention of the server-side record.
  • jl_map_aspect – remembers the map aspect ratio in train details. Duration: browser session.
  • __Host-nhc_csrf and nhc_csrf_token – protect form requests. Duration: 24 hours.
  • localStorage – menu currency – remembers the currency you chose for menu prices. Kept until you clear it.
  • sessionStorage – search state – cleared when you close the tab.

Optional (only with your consent)

  • Analytics – Google Analytics 4 (if enabled on the site): cookies _ga and _ga_* distinguish visitors for statistics. Provider: Google. Duration: up to 2 years.
  • External content – Google Maps on event pages: before consent you see our static preview and nothing is sent to Google. After consent, the map loads from Google, which may set its own cookies under its own policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Statistics without cookies

We also count visits in aggregate on our own server. Nothing is stored in your browser for this, and we do not keep IP addresses or browser details.

Changing or withdrawing consent

You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer. Refusing is as easy as accepting. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
